Unlawful Use of a Weapon By A Felon is the charge when a person has been convicted of a felony and is found to be in possession of a gun. This is either a Class 2 or 3 felony charge depending on what was the previous felony conviction. Both of these charges have mandatory penitentiary sentences when there is a conviction. If you have a convicted felony charge on your record, you are not allowed to have a FOID card or Concealed Carry License.
Please see a few of the strategies to try and defend against this charge on the Gun Charges page.
